Backyard Bird Basics: Native Plants for Birds Webinar
Fall migration is magical, but it also presents dangerous obstacles to birds. One of the best ways Great Lakes residents can help migrating birds is by planting native plants at home.

Join MI Birds, a public outreach program from Audubon Great Lakes and Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Audubon Great Lakes' Wild Indigo Nature Explorations and Lake to Lake Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) for “Backyard Bird Basics: Native Plants for Birds Webinar.”

Special guest speakers will include:

• Elise Desjarlais, Coordinator for Lake to Lake Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA)
• Jennifer Johnson, Wild Indigo Associate for Audubon Great Lakes
• Erin Rowan, Senior Coordinator of Michigan Conservation for Audubon Great Lakes
• Daniel Suarez, Conservation Manager for Audubon Great Lakes

You can help birds thrive right where you live by making your yard more bird-friendly. Find out how a native garden benefits pollinators and birds, and what it takes to design and manage a native plant garden in your own community! You’ll gain an understanding of different native plants that will thrive in your area, and learn how to identify some common invasive species and how to prevent their spread.
